Description of the weekend activities

Here are descriptions of the activities to help plan your weekend.  Print the itinerary then place the numbers from 1 (first choice) 2 (second choice) and 3 (third choice) in the spaces provided plus your experience level. This will allow us to accommodate your requests.  We would like a minimum of  5 women for an activity to happen. Please mail in your completed itinerary with your registration form.

True Chocolate Lover: Yummy! Great way to start the weekend - self indulge in women’s most tempting desire.

Daily Run (Optional): For those who want to enjoy the early morning stillness.

Daily Yoga (Optional): Sun salutation! A great way to start your day and to welcome the morning.

Canoeing - Learning the skills: This activity will teach you the basic paddling skills. This includes paddling a straight line and maneuvering your canoe. You’ll become familiar with various types of paddles and canoes, safety equipment and sooo much more.

Canoeing - We’re Going Paddling: This is the day we take a tour of beautiful Hallamore lake combining all the skills you have learned and expanding on those skills. If you already know the basics this is the time to work towards learning additional skills and to become more comfortable and competent in a canoe.

Outdoor Photography - Phase I: You must have knowledge of your digital camera. You need to have two photos stored on your camera, one representing an earth component and one representing a water component. This class will allow you to explore your photography skills and to find the answers to all your questions.

Outdoor Photography - Phase II: With the new knowledge that you acquired in Phase I and with the photos you have since taken you will analyze your own work, looking at subjects, lighting and context.

Nordic Walking: Learn how to walk with poles for a total body workout. Nordic walking is becoming the trendy fitness activity that everyone is enjoying. So you might as well learn some tips and get the full benefits of walking with poles.

Painting - Bob Ross Style: Learn how easy it is to create beautiful art work, fulfilling your creative dreams through the Bob Ross style of painting. You can learn to paint realistic landscapes, florals, wildlife and portraits in only a short time even if you have never painted before.

Ocean Kayaking - The How To(s): More and more people are enjoying the art of ocean kayaking, exploring their local lakes or adventuring out onto the ocean. Learn the basic skills of ocean kayaking and learn about the different styles, types and manufactures of kayaks.

Ocean Kayaking - Let’s paddle: Bring it all together and enjoy a paddle around the lake, learning as you go and keeping a straight line!!!!

Wild Herbs and Crafts - Walk: You will be amazed to discover the many plants the forest gives life to that are both edible and medicinal. Enjoy a leisurely walk in the forest and search out the edible plants and flowers. Then enjoy a treat from what you have collected.

Mountain Biking - Learn the technique: Mountain biking has become the rage!! Learn the basic skills to give you confidence to cycle rugged trails. You can either bring your own bike and learn how to ride it or we can arrange a rental. (Let us know ahead of time if you require a rental bike.)

Mountain Biking - Lets go for a ride: We are going to take all these new skills you have just learned and cycle a designated easy trail.

Bike Maintenance: This is for those of you who have brought your own bikes and have a desire to learn how to keep them maintained. This is a great way to reduce yearly maintenance costs.

Outdoor Clothing - Layering and best type of clothing to wear: There are many varieties of clothing available. What is the difference between light, mid and heavy weight? What are the pros and cons of the numerous types of material out there? Women this is the time to get your questions answered and become more knowledgeable in choosing your outdoor clothing.

Nature Hike - Explore the Wonders: This is a surprise in the making. Because of the abundance of snow this year, this hike will vary. It could be up into the alpine or visiting waterfalls, or exploring the spring flowers in the demonstration forest. Since it is June we will probably see some bears and moose, maybe with their young. But no promises!! It is for the adventurous at heart!!

One Pot Meals: Have you ever tried to impress your friends with delicious, but easy meals? Well this is your chance to discover all the possibilities and learn some secrets in cooking one pot meals.

Whitewater Kayaking: This is an introductory activity with “Fluid” kayaks. Learn the basics of paddling, rolling, paddling straight lines and maneuvering your kayak on the lake. You will also learn about safety equipment and the necessary clothing. If you have always wanted to try kayaking but had a fear, this is the day!

Survival Camping Skills: Have you ever wanted to build a shelter (without it collapsing) or start a fire with the resources from mother nature? This two-hour fun activity will allow you to explore your hidden talents and be one with mother nature.

Belly Dancing: Shake it up women! This is your time to explore the inner you and have a crazy time. Be amazed how your hips can move and what a workout your tummy gets while having fun!!
