Desolation Sound is a world renowned kayaking destination and British Columbia’s largest marine park. The ocean temperature averages 22 ° C (74 °F) and the average summer weather temperature varies from 20-30 ° C (70-90°F). A sea kayaker’s paradise! We paddle in shelter waters, among clusters of islands, coves and inlets observing abundant marine life and viewing the towering peaks of the coastal mountains along BC’s magnificent coastline. The warm ocean waters are ideal for swimming and snorkeling. So come prepared to enjoy some fun. During this five day trip, we move campsites often. This allows us to paddle and explore lesser known wilderness pristine areas within Marine Park, as well as, experience off- the- beaten path kayaking tours outside Marine Park. All meals are deliciously homemade and seafood is plentiful! We do cater do food requirements if given sufficient notice. This trip is one of a kind! You will learn the geology, history, flora and fauna of Desolation Sound Marine Park. You will have opportunity to explore intertidal pools, sandy beaches and BC coastal rainforest. And, you will never know when you might find yourself paddling, swimming or snorkeling with schools of porpoises, dolphins, seals and whales! Surprise, surprise!
